I’ll be straight with you, writing one of these profiles is a little awkward.
How do you sum yourself up in a few paragraphs and make it feel real? I’m going to try anyway. I’m a writer. While incarcerated I wrote and published a four-book children’s series called the GWiz series, written specifically for kids who have a parent behind bars. Reaching families who need these books is one of the things I’m most proud of. I’m also a brother, a son, and dad who thinks deeply about the world even when the world feels far away. What I’m looking for is simple: Genuine conversation from people who are looking for friendship and maybe more. I’m non-judgmental and I strive daily for positivity. I’m spiritual and love to laugh. My goal every day is to bring a smile to someone’s face.
So, if you’re interested. Tell me about your city. Tell me what you’re reading or watching on TV and what you do for fun? Tell me what made you laugh this week or what’s been on your mind. I’m a good listener and an even better correspondent. I take letters and emails seriously. You write to me, I’m writing back. I’m curious about almost everything from books, history, music, philosophy, family, culture, travel and food that I can only dream about right now.
I have opinions and I’m not shy about sharing them. I respect people who think differently than I do. I won’t pretend this life is easy. I was wrongly convicted for crimes I honestly did not do. But I refuse to let it make me bitter.
Every day I choose to send out good vibes, stay creative, and stay connected to my humanity. A letter from a good person would mean the world to me. If you’ve ever wanted a pen pal who will actually invest in the exchange and who will read every word you write and respond with care and intention, then I think we’d get along just fine.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Taquarius

Please note: This service gives you the opportunity to send your first message to a new pen pal, free of charge. If you send more than one message to the same inmate, or a message to someone you already know, they will not be forwarded.
When you send a message using this form, our staff will print and mail it via US Mail or forward it via the prison’s email system, every two weeks. Be patient, and don’t expect an immediate reply. Inmates can’t email you back directly, so include your full name, email address, and complete mailing address or phone number for a reply. Messages without valid contact info won’t be forwarded, nor will messages with threatening or abusive language.
Want to message directly and more quickly? Check the inmate’s profile to see which email service he or she uses (i.e. GettingOut, JPay, Securus). These services cost between 5 to 50 cents per message and offer you the ability to message them directly and instantly.
