How do I sum up myself in a thousand words or less? This is my first attempt at this whole pen pal thing, and I’ve been down a while. I’m now seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, so here I am. I am a fifty-Ish year-old guy from Louisiana, the prison state. I could stand to lose about fifteen pounds, but couldn’t we all right? I am short at five foot five inches tall with a medium build at one hundred fifty-five pounds. On the street I go by my middle name which is Michael because I always thought Kerry was a girl’s name. In here I go by Kerry Michael. I am an only child with no siblings or cousins. In fact, I am the only one of my family left. Everyone else has passed away, so I am completely alone-hence the pen pal thing.
I’m a veteran having served in the U.S Navy for twelve years. I plan on publishing my first novel by the end of 2025. I love to immerse myself in history, especially mythology. I’m a Virgo, so I’m very sociable, but I do have a stutter that developed after Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, that tends to rear its ugly head if I get nervous or excited. I have tattoos on my forearms. I love the Marvel and DC universe as these are what I grew up on as a kid. I’m also not afraid to make fun of myself for a laugh. As far as what I’m looking for. I don’t have a type. I like who I like. I am not jealous, possessive, or controlling nor do I like these qualities. I actually composed a compatibility questionnaire if you can believe that. Hey, I get bored in here. I do a lot of writing and am involved with the PEN America Center in New York as a part of their mentorship program. I am a certified paralegal. I figured if I can’t be an attorney, why not be the next best thing?
Alcohol is the main reason I’m in Prison and it caused a very big lapse of judgement. I have taken steps in here to remedy that although I am sure it will be a struggle regardless.
I have much more to share, so if this has piqued your interest, drop me a line. As I said before, I don’t have a type, so I welcome anyone who wants to write.
Please note: This service gives you the opportunity to send your first message to a new pen pal, free of charge. If you send more than one message to the same inmate, or a message to someone you already know, they will not be forwarded.
When you send a message using this form, our staff will print and mail it via US Mail or forward it via the prison’s email system, every two weeks. Be patient, and don’t expect an immediate reply. Inmates can’t email you back directly, so include your full name, email address, and complete mailing address or phone number for a reply. Messages without valid contact info won’t be forwarded, nor will messages with threatening or abusive language.
Want to message directly and more quickly? Check the inmate’s profile to see which email service he or she uses (i.e. GettingOut, JPay, Securus). These services cost between 5 to 50 cents per message and offer you the ability to message them directly and instantly.
