I’ve heard it takes a polar bear 400 lbs. of pressure to break the ice…
Hey, my name is Pedro, but my friends call me shorty, not because I’m small in stature at 5’6″ but because all my friends are tall. Some things I’m passionate about include, family, friends, art and working with dogs.

Up until recently I was part of a program helping train dogs to become service animals and teaching inmates the art of training dogs. Working with puppies was a blessing and an escape from the whirlwind of chaos that exits within these concrete walls. Due to bad decisions I’m no longer training dogs. One of the main reasons I wanted to join this site was to find someone to help ground me and give me guidance to rebuilding.

I like adventure so throughout my years I’ve created a bucket list of things I’d like to do when I get out. A few include snowboarding, visiting New York, visiting family in Mexico and going on a ship cruise.

I’m an easy going person easy to tack to and provide a safe space for great conversation and a judgment-free zone. I’m here to meet like-minded people. Life is too short and I don’t want to cheat myself out of meeting someone that I can create a great friendship with or more. So what do you say? Are you down to go skydiving with me? I already jumped out the plane I’m just waiting on you…

How Does This Work?
This is a great time to briefly introduce yourself and let the inmate know what interested you about their pen pal profile.

Please note: This service gives you the opportunity to send your first message to a new pen pal, free of charge. If you send more than one message to the same inmate, or a message to someone you already know, they will not be forwarded.

When you send a message using this form, our staff will print and mail it via US Mail or forward it via the prison’s email system, every two weeks. Be patient, and don’t expect an immediate reply. Inmates can’t email you back directly, so include your full name, email address, and complete mailing address or phone number for a reply. Messages without valid contact info won’t be forwarded, nor will messages with threatening or abusive language.

Want to message directly and more quickly? Check the inmate’s profile to see which email service he or she uses (i.e. GettingOut, JPay, Securus). These services cost between 5 to 50 cents per message and offer you the ability to message them directly and instantly.
