My name is Eric — but to most, I’m known as Berg Redstar.
I’m from Chicago, and right now I’m serving time at South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton. Even in here, I refuse to let my circumstances define the man I am becoming. I’m a proud father, a protector at heart, and a man who believes love should feel safe, passionate, and genuine. While incarcerated, I earned my HiSET diploma and completed my HVAC certification — because when I come home, I’m coming home prepared. Music is my soul. My work is on all streaming platforms and has been played on Power 92 in Chicago. But beyond the music and ambition, I’m simply a man who wants something real. I’ve loved deeply before. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve grown from them. And now, I’m ready for something built on honesty, loyalty, and emotional connection. I’m looking for a woman who wants more than surface-level conversation — someone who believes in building something meaningful. A best friend. A partner. Someone I can write to, laugh with, open up to, and plan a future with. While I’m here, I want to feel your presence through your words. When I come home, I want us to create memories the right way — together.
If you feel like your heart is open to something genuine, reach out to me through the Global Tel Link (GTL) tablet app.
Let’s build something real.
Please note: This service gives you the opportunity to send your first message to a new pen pal, free of charge. If you send more than one message to the same inmate, or a message to someone you already know, they will not be forwarded.
When you send a message using this form, our staff will print and mail it via US Mail or forward it via the prison’s email system, every two weeks. Be patient, and don’t expect an immediate reply. Inmates can’t email you back directly, so include your full name, email address, and complete mailing address or phone number for a reply. Messages without valid contact info won’t be forwarded, nor will messages with threatening or abusive language.
Want to message directly and more quickly? Check the inmate’s profile to see which email service he or she uses (i.e. GettingOut, JPay, Securus). These services cost between 5 to 50 cents per message and offer you the ability to message them directly and instantly.
