Hello! My name is Colby, I’m new to this! Well, here it goes, I’m new here and I’m here to meet new people, make friends that could eventually turn into something. You never know how real someone is until the ice is broken. Lol
Now let’s say a little bit about my sorry…I’m an alcoholic and was heavily in my drinking and masking my childhood pain, and the stress that I was enduring. I was a functioning drinker, I was able to do everyday tasks, work, grocery shopping play with my princesses etc.
Easter 2020 changed my life in a way I never could have imagined. What began as an ordinary day took a devastating turn when I made the decision to drive after drinking. I lost control of my pickup truck, which ended up in the Afterbay connected to Lake Oroville. In the moments that followed, I was overwhelmed by shock and disbelief as my truck, carrying my two young daughters, Arianna and Ava, and my brother, became trapped underwater. I tried desperately to reach them but was unable to. In that moment, I felt completely lost—overcome with guilt, worthlessness, and hopelessness. I believed I had failed the very people I was meant to protect. My daughters were my entire world, and the weight of that realization has stayed with me ever since.
Since then, I’ve been sober. I’ve done a complete 360. I found God and a Higher Power also I work closely with an AA sponsor to maintain my sobriety. I’ve completed numerous of self-help groups where I had to dig deep to figure out WHY I drank and find where all the pain came from. I did just that. And that is a conversation for a later time. :)
So about me, I’m currently attending College. I’m going for my A.S business degree, then I’m going for my Bachelor’s. When I get out, I’m starting a mobile diesel shop.
I’m a positive, outgoing, self-motivated, and honest person. I love to laugh, and I’ll make you laugh :). I’m an outdoorsman. I love to hunt, camp, hike, 4 wheeling, and the snow! :)
If you’d like to know more about this handsome fellow don’t hesitate to reach out :) you can either write or text me through the messaging app. “GTL messages” Colby Brookman BS5929

When you send a message using this form, our staff will print and mail it via US Mail or forward it via the prison’s email system, every two weeks. Be patient, and don’t expect an immediate reply. Inmates can’t email you back directly, so include your full name, email address, and complete mailing address or phone number for a reply. Messages without valid contact info won’t be forwarded, nor will messages with threatening or abusive language.
Want to message directly and more quickly? Check the inmate’s profile to see which email service he or she uses (i.e. GettingOut, JPay, Securus). These services cost between 5 to 50 cents per message and offer you the ability to message them directly and instantly.
