Greetings from St. Peter, Minnesota — a picturesque small town on the scenic Minnesota River Valley. It’s home to several local festivals and plenty of hiking trails. Unfortunately for me, it’s also home to a 160-year-old state hospital, better known to locals as the Civil Commitment Facility. It’s where I currently reside; I’ve been locked up since 2007.
If you’re seeking the “usual” prison pen pal friendship — you know, the big tough guy, all tatted up, who can bench press 500 pounds, then you’ve come to the wrong place. What I can provide, though, is something unique, something refreshing, and something real.
I’m Allen Michael Lee, age 43. I have a good sense of humor, an outgoing personality, and I enjoy getting to know new people. I grew up on a five-acre hobby farm, where I became familiar with all things outdoors. I love fishing, camping, four-wheeling, hunting, and gardening. Some of my favorite indoor activities include billiards, pinochle, paint by numbers, and listening to music — R&B, Country, and everything in between. I’m left-handed and I have no tattoos or piercings.
Despite challenging circumstances, I’ve done my best to remain optimistic. When I was just 17, my older sister passed away in a tragic car accident. Then, when I was arrested in my 20s, my daughter was put up for adoption. Through it all, I persevered. They say that adversity and pain builds strength and character, which is why I’ve spent nearly 20 years learning about myself, figuring out how to share my feelings instead of stuffing them inside, becoming more empathetic toward others, and doing my best to stay hopeful that one day I may be released back into society for a second chance at life.
For now, I’d love to meet a female pen pal — someone caring and kind, honest, with a good personality, who is non-judgmental. I’d love to write or even talk on the phone with a woman in her 30s or older. One of the perks of being at this facility is we can make free phone calls. We also have a voicemail number where you can leave me a (very) brief 15-second message. That # is 507-484-9930 and I’m at extension 69343. You can also write to me at the address listed here in my profile. Feel free to ask me anything at all, as I am a very open person.
My main turn-offs are racism, manipulators, drug users, and immature people in general. I’m not here for drama or chaos; I genuinely would like to form a new friendship and get to know someone outside of this facility — maybe even someone quite far away from St. Peter, Minnesota :)
Please note: This service gives you the opportunity to send your first message to a new pen pal, free of charge. If you send more than one message to the same inmate, or a message to someone you already know, they will not be forwarded.
When you send a message using this form, our staff will print and mail it via US Mail or forward it via the prison’s email system, every two weeks. Be patient, and don’t expect an immediate reply. Inmates can’t email you back directly, so include your full name, email address, and complete mailing address or phone number for a reply. Messages without valid contact info won’t be forwarded, nor will messages with threatening or abusive language.
Want to message directly and more quickly? Check the inmate’s profile to see which email service he or she uses (i.e. GettingOut, JPay, Securus). These services cost between 5 to 50 cents per message and offer you the ability to message them directly and instantly.
