Hello my name is James, but most people call me Jay. Life has taken me down a path less traveled having spent over 30 years of my 48 years behind walls & razor wire (not straight thankfully). Despite the circumstances, I carry an optimism & youthful energy that I believe shines through. You might even agree looking at my pictures that I defy the years, often mistaken for someone in their mid 30’s. Perhaps I’m just blessed or maybe it’s just a refusal to let time dictate my inner vitality.
I was born and raised in New York City and aside from the time I spent in Juvenile detention I spent my childhood there & in New Jersey. The few years not incarcerated as an adult I spent in Pennsylvania & New Jersey, my nomadic upbringing instilled in me an appreciation for different cultures and a resilience that has served me well. I’ve seen a lot, learned a lot, & have a unique perspective on life. My goal for being on here is simple. It’s to forge genuine meaningful friendships. Life’s journey, especially mine has taught me the invaluable worth of connection and understanding. I’m looking for people who are open minded, enjoy a good conversation and are willing to share their world, at the moment mine is a never-ending mundane routine that is unfortunately just prison life. Whether its discussing books, current events, shared interests or simply everyday happiness in life. I value authentic conversation & the warmth of human connection.
I want to assure you that I am entirely self-sufficient financially, so many motivations are purely about building companionship, not seeking assistance. The horizon is also clearer than ever, with my release date scheduled a little less than 5 years from now. I’m actively preparing for that next chapter, eager to reengage with the world & carry forward with the meaningful relationships I hope to build. I see this as an opportunity to build bonds that can extend beyond these walls and into a vibrant future.
