The news says we suffer an epidemic of loneliness. I think in this reality TV world in which we see the pretty ugly people who feel freed of their duty to be decent even to those they claim to love, it’s more of a fear to be open or our genuine selves.

When did you last feel heard, connection? Or allow someone to see, know the real you without walls and shields. I do not know what I may seem to others… I hope as a man, someone who like you has woken in the middle of the night to the sound of rain, apologized, attended funerals, explained the history of self to loves seeking to know and be known, had at unexpected moments experienced joy… I am and have been many things…cowboy, lifeguard, bodyguard, business owner, and Christian store friend.

Let’s, shall we? Walk some of life’s path with someone, no matter the day sunny, beautiful, or darkest road… you are not alone. Message me direct on the Getting Out App or online at https://www.gettingout.com/ or snail mail me. Friendship is precious not only in the shade but also in the sunshine of life.

I read & write German well, being of German (& Basque) descent.

How Does This Work?
This is a great time to briefly introduce yourself and let the inmate know what interested you about their pen pal profile.

Please note: This service gives you the opportunity to send your first message to a new pen pal, free of charge. If you send more than one message to the same inmate, or a message to someone you already know, they will not be forwarded.

When you send a message using this form, our staff will print and mail it via US Mail or forward it via the prison’s email system, every two weeks. Be patient, and don’t expect an immediate reply. Inmates can’t email you back directly, so include your full name, email address, and complete mailing address or phone number for a reply. Messages without valid contact info won’t be forwarded, nor will messages with threatening or abusive language.

Want to message directly and more quickly? Check the inmate’s profile to see which email service he or she uses (i.e. GettingOut, JPay, Securus). These services cost between 5 to 50 cents per message and offer you the ability to message them directly and instantly.
