I’ve been incarcerated since 1997 and have maintained my innocence after I was falsely accused of the charges you’ll read of. But because this profile has a limited word count, I don’t want to use this narrow space to explain the specifics. Just know not everyone in prison for this type of crime are guilty of it. Google wrongful convictions in the state of Illinois, specifically sex crimes. But also feel free to do your own research to read my case file (Cook County No. 97-CR-05163 and Appellate No. 1-24-1722) where I am still fighting these allegations today. Who am I? I love learning about all aspects of life from spirituality, feminism, education, social justice issues, music, culture and philosophy. Having a lot of downtime I’ve always sought to be either reading or spending time in college classrooms. The picture you see was during a graduation ceremony where I obtained my bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in 2024. I am someone who loves life and after being incarcerated for so long, this experience has enhanced my appreciation for how I utilize my time. Meaning I have no intention on wasting your time nor my own, on lying, being deceitful, bitter or regretting lost opportunities. I’d rather dedicate my energy to helping a friendship grow and heal than making one worser, meaner or hateful. I truly believe in the saying, hurt people hurt people but also healed people heal people. My hobbies are reading, exercising, journaling. I enjoy mindfulness, meditation and yoga. All of these processes help me maintain my balance and mental health.
