What is PenPals.Buzz?

PenPals.Buzz is a division of Snaptura, a leader in Inmate Services and Prison Consulting.  Our team has intimate knowledge of the criminal justice system and what it’s like to be a prison inmate.  It gets lonely inside, and in today’s modern technological world, inmates receive less mail than ever before.  

Our founder met his wife on a pen pal website and knows firsthand how beneficial letter-writing can be.  With a team of graphic designers, web developers, digital marketers, copywriters, social media experts, and entrepreneurs, our mission is to create an easy-to-navigate and affordable pen pal website accessible to all.  We aim to promote PenPals.Buzz to people from all walks of life, as we strive to connect free-world pen pals with incarcerated individuals.  Both can benefit from the power of connection, friendship, and letter-writing.

Research has shown that writing to a pen pal can drastically reduce recidivism rates and can increase an inmate’s productivity both in prison and after his or her release.  According to studies, emotional bonds and social support are key factors in lowering recidivism rates.  When an inmate signs up for a pen pal program such as ours, they will feel more like a human being again.  They’ll feel a connection with the outside world.  Their feelings of loneliness and hopelessness will diminish.  And they will be less likely to participate in future criminal behavior.  Sometimes, all it takes is for someone to believe in them.  That someone could be you.
