Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile. My name is Brian, and I'm currently incarcerated in the Pennsylvania prison system. In 1992 I was convicted of a crime I didn't commit, and after more than 35 years and several unsuccessful appeals, there are finally real signs of hope in my case. I'm feeling good about the future, and it seems like the right moment to reconnect with the outside world and maybe make a genuine friend.

If you're an open-minded woman willing to take a chance on a diamond in the rough, I'd love to hear from you. I'm 60, but I'm not your typical "old head." I work out regularly, enjoy CrossFit-style training, and like pushing myself with new challenges. Get to know me and I think you'll find I don't fit the stereotype people tend to have about guys in prison.

From day one, I decided to make the most of a bad situation instead of moping around feeling sorry for myself. I went back to school and earned my diploma, then completed a paralegal course and received a diploma in Paralegal Studies in U.S. Law. Over the years I've earned certificates in all kinds of areas, from self-help programs to vocational training, so I'll have something solid to fall back on.

I've also tried to give back. I've donated to charitable causes and taken part in walk-a-thons and run-a-thons for sick and underprivileged children. I've worked as a tutor and coached a volleyball team that did very well. These days I work in the prison's mattress factory, making mattresses, shower curtains, and other goods for the PA D.O.C., and I train the new guys in my section on their jobs and how to run the machines.

In my spare time I read nonfiction, history, and self-help. I'm also an artist — I love to paint — and I'm big on sports and music. Someday I'd like to travel and experience other cultures. After decades behind bars, I just want the chance to enjoy life.

Through all of it I've kept a sound mind and a positive attitude. I come from a good family and grew up in Philly, and I love all my hometown teams, especially the Eagles. Fly, Eagles, Fly!
