My name is Monica Floyd. I am a black, intelligent and happy person. I'm 53 years old and have no children, divorced and single. I was born and raised on the South side of Chicago. I trusted someone and that is what landed me in prison for a crime that I did not commit. Yes, I am still fighting for my freedom. As I wait, I have taken many courses to educate myself. I have graduates from cosmetology, culinary arts, business management, leadership academy and many more. I have my associates degree and now studying to get my bachelor's degree in psychology.

During my incarceration I have lost both my parents. Dealing with grief has brought me closer to God. God is first in my friendships and relationships.
