I want to start off by acknowledging that many of you in the free world might think that inmates are lonely, depressed and miserable in prison and yes, most inmates in here do complain and criticize, compare and compete but there are those few like me who are living their best life and have a different type of mindset. I have so much to be grateful for. I'm drug free; I'm not hurting anyone, I'm educating myself, I have an awesome job, I mentor new inmates coming in and I'm a part of some amazing self-improvement groups.

After 10 years of being incarcerated, it's the perfect time to make new, meaningful and long-term friendships. I'm not trying to be anyone's man or need anyone to hold me down. I'm very independent and can stand on my own two feet. I'm not looking for friendships in order to feel complete; I'm looking for friendships to compliment my life and my successful endeavors.

I do want to be clear about something. The only way I will respond to you is if you write me directly at this prison or send me a message through this website. Make sure to include your name, an address I can write you at and a little bit about yourself: How old are you, do you work, have any kids, are you religious, family orientated, do you like to cook, etc.

One more thing, I'm not trying to be shallow but if you're into drama or toxicity, I'm definitely not the right friend for you. I'm at a point in my life where I must surround myself with positive, ambitious, goal orientated people because the laws and sentencing guidelines are slowly changing which means that I'll be home sooner than later with a true, genuine and sincere change in my life. Write me or send me a message, what do you have to lose.

UPDATE: Thanks to all of you who continue to reach out to me. It's heartwarming. Many of you have used the GettingOut app that O.D.O.C. uses to inform me that your mail is being <b><i><font color="blue">"returned to sender."</b></i></font> This is due to our new mailroom rules. The envelope can't have any security features, meaning, it must be white on the inside and outside. And use regular lined paper. Can't wait to hear from you. Alex
